How to Successfully Lose Weight – Body
A Tip about Body and Brokenness
Tip #1: Self-delusion will cause brokenness between body, soul, and spirit. It doesn’t have healing power.
If you look into a mirror and wonder why you have become someone other than yourself, then you might be trying to be somebody else. Nobody in particular, but instead, it might be a feeling of needing to be different from whom you really are. Have you ever felt this way? This is clear indication that you have gotten off track from wholeness from who you were made to be. As a result, disconnection between body, soul and spirit occurs. Everyone deals with this fragmentation on one level or another. No one is completely exempt from this fallen world and the pitfalls of self-delusion.
It is uncanny how self-deception slivers unnoticeably into your thoughts during the course of unmonitored weight gain. In fact, the cycle of gaining weight speeds up even faster when you are tricked into thinking that you actually have complete control, when in reality, you have no grasp of your situation. You do not acknowledge that something is wrong because you can’t even see it. This pattern feeds into an unhealthy loop, whereby progressive weight gain manifests into obesity. Most likely, your behaviors will become compulsive, as you will probably eat more, spend more, drink more, and obsess more. Although this process seems very subtle at first, it will not seem so when all of the sudden you can’t recognize who you are and begin to question who you have become.
A Tip about Body and Wholeness
Tip #2: One of the purposes of your body is to allow your spiritual life to express itself in outward actions.
Look back into the mirror. If you are overweight, then who have you become and why? Within the culture we live today, the appearance of your outside usually takes precedence over everything else. This may seem entirely unfair, especially when genetics and other physical factors predispose certain people to an overweight condition. Nonetheless, your body is an instrument for your spiritual nature. It cannot be disregarded because it allows you to communicate your richest thoughts, deepest emotions and spiritual expressions to others. Part of who you are directly relates to how you treat your body. It is an ongoing expression of wholeness.
