Friday Insights – Gordon Selley

Cherise and I have decided to devote our Friday blogs to various topics that affect all of us, whether personal or professional. The structure of these blogs is not to impose our way of thinking and living as the only or best ways for you to live. Simply, we are going to openly share our vulnerabilities and our mistakes, as well as our strengths and victories in life.
Feel free to follow along…
Although various polls seem to capture the essence of what’s happening within our socio-economic culture, Cherise and I do not believe that you have to remain bound to majority opinions and behaviors. In fact, our lives demonstrate the opposite of the majority, specifically for those who never seem to overcome over-sized obstacles nor get beyond the pain and brokenness in their lives.
It seems like the overriding message these days is that change never really happens for a lot of people. And while this might appear true, the fact of the matter is that you do not have to remain enslaved to this type of conjecture.
Real life-change is possible. There is a drop of cool water for you if you’re in a desert of despair.
Thought for the day: Hope only lasts as long as you believe in it. Why not drink from springs of living water instead of crawling toward a mirage in the desert? Why don’t you first evaluate your beliefs before you simply react to the arduous trials of life?
First things first. You have to make a commitment to enter into a process of inner change before your external world can experience long-lasting hope and evidence of sustained transformation.
