Living With Chronic Pain – Spiritual Fitness – The Voice Of Pain
Whenever you first meet someone who legitimately experiences severe pain, your encounter might seem quite intimidating. Not only does the demanding voice of pain try to drown out any sense of civility and compassion, but it also tries to leave you feeling helpless as to how you might actually provide comfort to those who are painfully afflicted.
For both the healthy and those who are afflicted, don’t let the loud voice of pain, related to whatever you’re going through; seem more powerful than the calm voice of God.
In all likelihood, this voice of pain, brazen and vulgar against any ideals about health, appears to shout at you from its outer (physical) parts. But in reality, you’re also hearing the cry of the heart, as pain always finds its way deep within the soul of man.
So as the outer parts of pain shout against you, remain calm and don’t get easily offended by the awkwardness of the afflicted. Because their inner being probably feels trapped and misunderstood, silently crying for some kind of help. And oftentimes, the painfully afflicted don’t even know what kind of help is really required to give them the kind of relief they really need.
Their fear and barbaric pain fights against the basis of true healing for the soul. It’s as if the rudimentary aspects of sin try to prevent any measure of God’s beauty to come inside to give comfort and complete spiritual healing.
If you’re being used as an instrument from God, I encourage you to follow His voice against those darkened forces that hold captive so many who experience some form of pain. Hurting people need our help, even though pain harshly tells us to stay away.
