Living With Chronic Pain – Spiritual Healing – Unexpected Death

Just received shocking news of an unexpected death in our family.  My brother, Clay Owen Selley, age 45, died on September 16, 2008.  He is survived by his wife, Val, leaving two children behind, named Karlyn and Blaine.  He will sorely be missed, and I pray that his spirit is committed into the hands of Jesus Christ.

As a result of this tragedy, I will be attending the funeral in Florida on Saturday and will most likely resume this blog late next week.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.  I praise God for his everlasting lovingkindness and prayerfully ask him to render comfort during our time of mourning.

Please accept my condolences; I just received this news via phone while at work. I’m sorry for your loss and deeply saddened as Dr. Selley brought me back to normalcy after several work-related injuries and gave me the ability to perform my job duties through his truly healing hands.

  6. Karina Koval Says:

    Hello,

My name is Karina Koval and I used to work for Dr. Selley with my sister Alina for a couple of years. We were very young when he hired us, but he gave us the opportunity of being part of his team. We became like a family in the office and we could come to Dr. Selley any time and he was always there for us. Dr. Selley even let us spend thanksgiving at his house for a couple of years in a row, what a great honor. He was one of the greatest role models in my life and Clay always believed in the both of us. When we went off to college we knew that we can make it because Dr. Selley told us so….and he made us believe it. I miss him so much, I wish I would’ve told him how I felt. My prayers are with his family, and I will never forget him, he will always be close to my heart.

  8. ALINA KOVAL Says:

    Anyone who read this!
Its only been a day since his funeral and still this shock has not sank in yet. I worked for Dr.Clay Selley for many years (started at 17), with my sister Karina! He knew us as the Russian sisters! He was the one that prayed for me at times of need, believed in me when no one else did, took me into his home on holidays when no other family was around! I AM WHO I AM TODAY BECAUSE OF HIM. I LOVED THIS MAN AS IF HE WAS MY FATHER AND HAD THE CHANCE TO SAY IT TO HIM MANY TIMES!
I’m speechless at this time because this tragedy I still so real in my life and will be for a long time. I can only remember good because if you knew him, there just was no bad :)
I had a chance to spend time with his family, when we stood around in a circle in his garage, with his brother Norma, we laughed and we cried! This moment of yesterday i will never forget because it brought peace to my heart!
Like paster Scott said “LET THERE BE GOOD THAT COMES OUT OF THIS, ONE MOMENET AT A TIME”. Dr.Selley tought me how to pray and I have been ALOT these days, along with that I want to his church today!
AS I WALK THROUGH LIFE THERE WILL BE ONE PERSON THAT I DEDICATE MY SUCCESS IN LIFE TO CLAY SELLEY, MY DEAREST FRIEND, BOSS, AND ABOVE ALL FATHER (IN CHRIST).
